Mental Health First Aid

RainbowAsia’s Mental Health First Aid workshops are developed in collaboration with established partners — including Oogachaga and the Inter-University LGBT Network Singapore — to address a critical gap in community support.

These workshops equip participants with practical skills to recognise signs of mental health distress, offer initial support, and guide individuals toward professional help. Content is tailored specifically to the experiences and challenges faced by LGBTQ+ people in Singapore.

Mental health remains one of the most pressing issues for queer youth. Research consistently shows that LGBTQ+ young people face disproportionately high rates of anxiety, depression, and social isolation. By training community members in mental health first aid, we create a network of informed, empathetic first responders who can intervene early and effectively.

We aim to expand this programme to reach more community groups, schools, and workplaces across Singapore.
