RainbowAsia is Singapore’s leading LGBTQ+ youth organisation, dedicated to creating a Singapore where queer young people can live authentically and thrive.

Founded in 2008 as a volunteer-led social group, we have grown into a registered non-profit with a structured, evidence-based approach to youth wellbeing.

Our work spans three strategic pillars: providing safe harbours where young people find safety and stability; incubating the next generation of LGBTQ+ leaders; and building an ecosystem of partners, allies, and institutions that share our commitment to equity.

Underpinning everything we do is a dedication to research and evidence. From our landmark Project Mosaic study on intersectional identities to our mental health workshops and corporate education programmes, we ensure that our work is informed by the realities our community faces — and that the insights we generate benefit the broader movement for LGBTQ+ inclusion across Asia.

Our Journey

  • 2008

    SGRainbow begins as a volunteer-led social group, creating a space for GBQ+ youth to find a kindred community.

  • 2015

    Ran Singapore’s first one-of-its kind residential camp for GBQ+ youth

  • 2023

    Officially registered as a non-profit organisation, marking a new chapter of structured growth. Rebranded to RainbowAsia. Embarked on the Lived Experiences of GBQ men in Singapore study

  • 2024

    Embarked on Project Mosaic, a year-long study examining the issues faced by individuals with intersectional identities

  • 2024

    Introduced Singapore’s first one-of-a-kind residential camp for LGBTQ+ youth

  • 2025

    Adopts a new strategic framework organised around three pillars — Safe Harbour, Leadership Incubator, and Ecosystem Builder — all grounded in research and evidence.
